Meeting someone from the app
- First meets happen in public: a bar night, a social, a moshpit with witnesses. Events exist for exactly this.
- Tell a packmate where you're going and when you'll check in. Arrange your own way home.
- Profiles are self-described. A verified-looking profile is still a stranger; trust is built in person.
- If your gut says leave, leave. You owe nobody an explanation.
What BorkR shows about where you are
Distances are deliberately vague. People see Nearby, Close, or Further: never metres, never a map pin. Your live location is only used while you've consented to be on the Nearby grid, and it expires from our systems on its own within hours.
- Appearing on the Nearby grid is opt-in and reciprocal: only people visible on it can see it.
- Switch visibility off any time in your account; you disappear from the grid immediately.
Your privacy is a safety feature
- Screenshots of profiles, chats, or the grid break the code of conduct. Report them.
- Being here is private information. Anyone outing a member is removed.
- Messages need your accept before someone can keep messaging you. Decline freely.
Reporting
Report people or events through the contact channel or directly to an event's organiser. Say what happened, where, and who; screenshots of behaviour (not of bystanders) help. Reports are confidential and read by humans.
If something serious happened
Your safety outranks this app. If you're in danger, contact local emergency services first: 112 anywhere in the EU, 999 in the UK. Then, if BorkR can help with what happened on the platform, tell us: we act on it and we cooperate with lawful investigations.
